DEEPRUN

DEEPRUN is a solo journaling roguelike. You shuffle a regular deck of playing cards, draw one card at a time, and each card is the next room of the dungeon your delver is descending through. What you find there — and what your delver does about it — is yours to write, room by room, in the Descent Log. A finished run is part game, part diary of one character who went down.

If a run goes badly, your delver is gone for good. That's the point, not a flaw: DEEPRUN is built for people who love the permadeath, luck-of-the-draw tension of games like Hades, Slay the Spire and Dead Cells and want it at a quiet table with a pencil. The Legacy Track makes each death mean something — every fallen or victorious delver leaves one small permanent perk behind for whoever descends next.

What you need: a standard 52-card deck, one six-sided die, a pencil, and about 30–60 minutes per run. The deck resets clean every time, so there's no limit on how many delvers you send down.
